I am very excited to have the chance to run for The Richfield School Board. I believe in public education and I believe in Richfield. Having been a resident of Richfield for the past 25 years, I truly love the diversity of our community and the close small town feel that we have. I believe very strongly that the Richfield Public Schools are moving in the right direction, and I would like to be a part of continuing that and to keep improving to make Richfield Schools the very best!

I will work very hard to listen to all stake holders in Richfield when it comes to making policy decisions as a School Board Member. I know what it is like when you don't feel like you are being listened too. Whether you are a student, parent, community member, Teacher or School Staff member...your voice should be heard!

I believe that we have 3 main issues that we need to remain focused on to continue giving the tremendous education that we do for our students in Richfield
1) We need to stay focused on attracting and retaining students in the Richfield School District. We offer a tremendous educational system that meets the needs of our diverse student body. We want all levels of students to excel at their very best.
2) We must continue to be very resourceful in spending the limited state funds that our school district receives. It is a shame our state funding has been reduced so much in the last five to seven years and therefore we have to be fiscally responsible in how we use our money to offer the very best we can for our students.
3) We must continue to work very hard in closing the achievement gap while at the same time making sure all students are challenged and adequately prepared for an ever changing world.
